    BPAC Theater Rental Spaces

    Rental Information

    Whether you’re looking to host a recital, put up a play, or host your company’s town hall, our venues are available for rental: Engelman Recital Hall, Mason Hall, the Rose Nagelberg Theatre, or Rehearsal Studio.

    Rentals include:

    • A friendly and helpful staff
    • Front-of-house manager and ushers
    • Full box office and box office staff (OvationTix.com)
    • One facilities manager (non-labor) per event for venue supervision
    • Lighting and sound inventory
    • Use of dressing rooms (with en suite bathrooms), green room and costume shop (except for Mason Hall)

    Renters using our venues must supply the onstage talent, creative team, technical labor (including stage managers, lighting, sound and set designers, board operators, board programmers, lighting electricians, carpenters, running crew, load-in/load-out crew, and liability insurance, as well as any permits or permissions required by state or city law/regulation). Renters are responsible for marketing their own events.

    Rental Fees

    Each of our venues has its own base price, which includes in-house lighting and sound systems, and some general items such as chairs, tables, podiums. Rentals include a venue manager, for basic technical needs, but not technical or production staffing. Box office and front of house staff are billed according to the needs of the rental.  Additional equipment for rental specific to each venue can be found on the venue tabs below.

    55 Lexington Avenue, New York

    Audience entrance on East 25th Street between Lexington & 3rd Avenues

    Seats: 175

    Ideal for chamber concerts (up to 15 musicians), film screenings, talks, lectures, play readings, conferences, and annual/informational meetings.

    A beautiful, intimate concert hall with superb acoustics and raked seating. 3 pianos including a Class D Steinway Concert Grand, are available for rental.

    The stage is 21′ x 21′ downstage (21′ x 14′ upstage) with a blond hardwood floor. A Strand mini-board offers eight preset cues, and recording within the space is possible (technicians at renter’s expense).

    With near-perfect acoustics, it is a true gem. The NY Times chief classical music critic Anthony Tommasini called the Engelman Recital Hall “a perfect hall for chamber music.”

    55 Lexington Avenue, New York

    Audience entrance on East 25th Street between Lexington & 3rd Avenues

    Seats: 140 – 213 (flexible)

    Ideal for theatrical rehearsals/productions (straight plays or musicals), dance, opera, and film and television shoots. Weekly rental available only.

    The Rose Nagelberg Theatre is a state-of-the-art black box theatre, with a stage that is 45′ wide, 26′ deep, and 21′ from stage level to the grid. Seating configuration is flexible. The floor is oak hardwood, finished in satin black paint. The theatre is equipped with a wire-tension lighting grid that allows for ease of focusing and movement of instruments and an advanced audio system.

    Please note: The Nagelberg Theatre is usually booked 6 months to 1 year in advance.

    17 Lexington Avenue, New York

    Event audience entrance is on 23rd Street

    PLEASE NOTE: due to renovation, Mason Hall is not available until August 2024

    Available for concerts, dance, comedy, variety shows, film screenings, school graduations, film and television shorts, talks, lectures, play readings, conferences (no catering space or breakout rooms available), and annual/informational meetings.

    Mason Hall is an auditorium-style venue, located on the main floor of the landmark 17 Lexington Ave building at 23rd Street. The stage floor area is 44′ x 21′. Mason Hall has limited wing space and adjacent dressing room space.

    • Skylight Room (large green room/assembly/dressing room)
